25 July 2012: Protest against the Olympics Committee’s failure to implement principles of equality and neutrality

On 25 July 2012 as the International Olympics Committee (IOC) meet in London before the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Games, we shall be reminding the IOC of its obligation to apply the principles of equality and neutrality inscribed in its own Olympic Charter. Currently the Olympic Games reflect a whole gamut of inequality between men and women – from the segregation of the sexes enforced by specific States to women being banned from taking part in sports if they refuse to wear clothing that covers their entire bodies while competing. It all amounts to the blatant discrimination of women athletes. The group’s concerns also include the banning of female athletes in contravention of principles of equality and the inclusion of veiled women and sex segregation and apartheid in contravention to neutrality principles.

The protest begins at 10.30am with a public meeting on board the ship Hispaniolia, on the Thames (Underground Station: Embankment), with speakers, videos and musical interludes. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

This is followed by a festive burial of the Olympics Charter, accompanied by a New Orleans style jazz band, marking the death of the Olympics values at 2.00pm. Bring flowers with you if you can.

The day will end with the delivery of a protest letter to each member of the IOC outlining the seven demands made by ‘London 2012: Justice For Women’.

NOTES:

A. London 2012: Justice for Women 7 Demands

Three demands against classical gender discrimination:
1. Parity: within Olympic disciplines and events
2. Decision-making bodies: at least 20% of women
3. Homage and visibility: the IOC President should give the Gold medal both to the male and the female marathon winners

Three demands against sexual segregation:
4. No more male only delegations
5. No more delegations wearing politico-religious symbols
6. IOC should no longer support international segregation Games for women organized by Tehran

A more global demand to “build a better world”

7. Fight against: stereotypes (sexism, homophobia, transphobia), segregation Olympics/ Paralympics, prostitution around the Olympics

Ooh ooh womens rights, oh how you demand to be equal. First sign of a ship sinking & you want to be the first off it with the children.

      What an asinine comment.
Fighting against discrimination is a good thing – not one to be dismissed as lightly as you are doing.
Suggestion – get off your backside and DO something useful instead of mocking those that are trying hard to create positive change for others.
      Ignorance is not a virtue.

        “RadFemActivist” (cough)

Isn’t “discrimination” the first requirement of sentience?

Sinking ships? Is there something I should know about the Hispaniola?

And demands for equality are a good thing.

It’s quite obvious that most of the globalist dullards involved in this do not understand the meaning of their own slogan. “One Law For All” means world government.

That said, I’m sure that this is well understood at the top of the hierarchy, and certainly by the parties behind this astroturf outfit.

Anyway, my reason for posting is to ask if anyone here can explain how any body might “implement principles of equality”?

I’m very pleased to see how many here are able to ignore the trolls! The Ship guy is illiterate, and the Cheshire dimwit is a paranoid… they are entertaining, but they suck energy…
    To my point:
Don’t look to the Olympics for equity or fairness… the rings are an assurance that the richest and most powerful will make all the decisions. As long as the West keeps the Sheiks in power, changes will be slow and meaningless.

Well, Cheshire for Ever, you obviously want the world to continue its multi-faceted divisions along religious and nationalist lines, but those of us who strive towards more equality and freedom and truly love our fellow humans strive towards more co-operation and sovereignty-sharing across state boundaries, and across power-bloc boundaries, and across continents. There is not a scintilla of doubt that the peoples of the world are coming ever closer together and concepts of racial superiority/inferiority, and of women being subservient and ‘under the guardianship’ of males are rapidly disappearing everywhere (yes, even ‘hard-line’ Islamic and Christian states are softening their discrimination stances and laws)
So, I would advise you to get with the programme of advancement towards more freedom, personal autonomy and justice for EVERYONE, or get out of the way of progress as succeeding generations will not thank you (and your fearful, conservative, worrying colleagues) for your delaying tactics.
I suspect that you may be a person who adheres to many conspiracy theories, so I would just suggest you ponder this conundrum:
If the media worldwide is ‘hiding the truth’ about many conspiracies (9/11, Bielenberg group, G8…sorry…G20, International Zionism, and your very own favourite: One World Government, etc..etc..yawn!) at what stage do all younger/newly-graduatred journalists and broadcasters (tens of thousands worldwide annually) suddenly join the Great Conspiracy of Silence (as they must do to sustain the cover-up) . . possibly some secret ceremony? Everywhere? In all media outlets? With no-one blowing the whistle?

Preposterous? Well, yes actually…. yawn!… get a (real) life?

IF YOU COULD REASON WITH RELIGIOUS PEOPLE,THERE WOULD NOT BE ANY RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. I am disgusted by the evil caused by religious tolerance. We should have zero tolerance of women hating rapists, and the violence of young men who do the dying while the old men do the lying. All religion is based on a big fat lie and a distortion of reality, perpetrated by people who lack the guts to take personal responsibility for their miserable existence. Sharia? Why not legalize rape and murder?
